The Next Generation Starts Here: New ATCOs in Training at CANI
A new group of Czech students has begun their journey to become air traffic controllers at CANI.
Before entering the classroom, the students took part in an adaptation course, focusing on team building, communication, and their first insight into the demands of the ATCO profession.
This week, they were officially welcomed by the management team — an important milestone marking the start of their training.
The programme is a comprehensive 15-week course combining theoretical instruction with practical simulator training. Theoretical modules cover air traffic management, aviation law, meteorology, navigation, aircraft systems, human factors, and the professional environment.
In the practical phase, students progressively develop their operational skills through simulator exercises in both aerodrome and surveillance control environments, completing structured training scenarios under instructor supervision.
