ATCO Training Pathway Progression at CANI for Slovenia Control

Czech Air Navigation Institute (CANI) has supported a group of future air traffic controllers from Slovenia Control through multiple stages of initial ATCO training.

The training pathway began in October 2025 and included:

  • ATC Basic Training
  • Aerodrome Control (ADC) Rating
  • Approach Control (APP) Rating

This structured progression reflects a comprehensive approach to controller training, supporting the gradual development of knowledge and operational skills across different control environments.

The final stage, the APP Rating, focused on approach control procedures and included both theoretical instruction and intensive simulator training, with a strong emphasis on handling complex traffic scenarios. Progress through such a multi-stage training pathway requires sustained performance and represents a significant milestone in professional development.

We wish the participants continued success as they move forward in their operational careers. This cooperation highlights CANI’s capability to provide end‑to‑end ATCO training programmes, tailored to the needs of partner ANSPs.

Together, we are building the skills that keep skies safe.
