PELTOP

The PELTOP has been developed by ANS CR language experts to meet the ICAO language proficiency requirements.

Applicants should demonstrate their understanding of communication between pilots and air traffic controllers in both routine and non-routine situations and their ability to react adequately on aviation oriented topics. The focus on the test is on language proficiency and the examiners evaluate how well the applicants express themselves in English, specific professional facts and details are not tested. That is why the applicants are recommended to speak as much as possible during the test, fully express their thoughts and opinions and give detailed descriptions.

Applicants are evaluated during the test in the following six criteria required by ICAO: pronunciation, fluency, structure, vocabulary, comprehension and interaction. According to the ICAO rating scale, candidates must demonstrate language proficiency in all six criteria in order to achieve minimum required ICAO operational level 4.

Please note: There is no need to go through any kind of aviation English course as a prerequisite for the PELTOP. But if you are interested, please enroll in the ANS CR Aviation English Preparatory Course (duration: 1 day / 6 hours). Click here for the application form.

Upon successful completion of the test a certificate will be issued on which base the CAA will add the language endorsement to pilot licences.
